Creative Logo Design
Before you begin, it is important to have a clear understanding
of what your logo that a customer will typically send out will stand for
A document that will contain all the necessary details, but if you feel incomplete,
feel free to ask the client the questions you need once you have a clear understanding
to start looking for references and creating a mood board for how your design is going.
Feel the most common place is to look for the inspiration behind Interests and aggregates if you’re struggling with what you’re looking for
You can try mind mapping
It is a technique where you can break up the logo brief and generate new ideas in different directions, let’s say I’m designing a logo for a coffee shop called Sleepy Bunny Coffee House and I don’t know exactly where to start, so I’ll just jot down the words that come to my mind when I think of the name of the company or even a choice Words from the Logo Brief and expand around once you are satisfied with the keywords
It’s time to move on to drawing
This is where you visualize your ideas and start bringing them to life, you don’t necessarily have to be great at drawing for that, you just need to be able to sketch your ideas around There are several options when it comes to drawing, you can take the initials and fiddle with them or Something like an amulet which I think would be a better fit in this case or you could even go the print path and play with that move
Creative Logo Design: Choose a color palette and an easy way to do it
Go to coolors.co and you can choose any palette that suits your design otherwise if you want to learn more about colors and go deeper into this topic I suggest you check out the future academy which has great tutorials on this, once you have your color palette and graphics ready its time to head over
I’m using Adobe Illustrator which is the most popular in the industry
for vector design but there are also a few options you can use to take
a picture of the graphic and drag it into the program to import, I’ve reduced
the opacity to 30 so I can trace the selected image and you can change the opacity from the top here with the crop tool on the Left while pressing Shift
I’m going to create a circle and then duplicate
it by pressing ctrl c and ctrl v and dragging the edges while holding Alt to make an ellipse,
duplicate it again and zoom out to make the inner oval create a circle again
to make the bunny’s head for the ears I’m going to use the pen tool, press p for the pen tool
and start jotting the anchor points by left-clicking, make sure to keep the points to a minimum and only
put the points where there is a curve to start then hold shift 3 to bring up
the anchor point tool and click and drag to adjust the curves to your liking, do the same
for the year The second one with the Pen Tool again I’m making that curve for my reference
and then with the Direct Selection tool select the bottom anchor point and hit delete Do the same
for the outer circle, key Go back to the Selection tool while still selecting both the inner ellipse and
the remaining arc now, I need to combine these two to make one shape for that, I’ll use the shape builder
tool and drag over both shapes to join them next, I use the pen tool again
to make the nose and eyes and then fill in the color using fill and stroke on the left
Creative Logo Design: This is very much in relation to the basic structure of the logo
Now I’m just going to play with the shapes
a bit more, adjust it to my liking, add some text around
it and fill in the colors so I tried to make the bunny look like it’s taking shape from coffee grounds and I also made a second simple version of it, tell me in the comments if you want me to make me or This kind of educational videos from time to time
